Our Kindergarten
Chalong Nursery 1-2 to Grade 1
Give your young children one of the best starts in an International Kindergarten in Phuket. We focus on learn by play in a Montessori style education with a Canadian based curriculum and management that has infused a continuous improvement model. Our children are self motivated to learn with a natural desire for knowledge, understanding, and respect.
Nursery to Grade 1
We accept children between the age of 1 and 5 years. We do keep the classes small so its a good idea to contact us in good time to book a tour and enrolment.

We have 5 classes that cover ages 1 to 6 years. Children are based in Chalong but have the option to move to our Rawai school at age 5.

Teachers
They love the job
One of our greatest strengths is our teachers. They are native English speakers (NES) that have been with us for a long time. They are very passionate about education and nurturing the children.
Happy children
You will soon come to realise that genuinely happy children come home with a smile day after day at our kindergarten. They are eager to show parents their creative artwork and show off their end of the week reports. Children are encouraged to form friendships, work in teams and advance social skills.
Link home and school education
With the weekly reports parents are always in the know of whats going on in the classroom. This makes it highly effective talking point to refresh and strengthen learning in school and at home. End of term reports have an in depth feedback and rating of ability. Rather than testing the young children teachers monitor their progress utilising project based activities. There is a one to one parent teacher day at the end of term enabling parents to discuss children’s performance and social progress.
Facilities
Indoor and Outdoor Play
Indoor and outdoor play areas with 2 trampolines, slides, swings, monkey bars, cargo net, large sandpit, basketball court and climbing frames. There are major sections of the outdoor area with artificial grass, which is ideal during monsoon season here.
Airconditioning
Airconditioned classrooms & reception area with sofas and chairs where children can rest outside of class.
Reception staff
The staff are very well connected to each of the childs parents with Whats App messenger and stay in contact for example if the child becomes sick during the day they work very hard to resolve any issues or adjust pickup times etc.
Dedicated Chefs
We have cafeteria with dedicated chefs that create healthy attractive food on a daily basis. Multiple sinks for hand cleaning.
Cloakrooms
Showers and toilets and a cloakroom to store the children’s bags.

Fees & Enrolement
Do i need to pay school fees per term?
No. There is an option to pay monthly. You can also qualify for discounts for paying every term or annual 1 year payment.
How do i enrole at Lighthouse Kindergarten?

What age do you accept children?
We accept children from 1 years old. Children also start at 2 or 3 years. Please enquire if places are available for ages 4-6 years.
How many children to each class?
Lighthouse has a small class policy for accelerated learning. The maximum is current 20 students.
At School
Will my child be on facebook or the website?
This is the parents choice. If your happy for your child to be on the website or facebook we ask that you fill in a consent form.
What if my child is sick?
If your child has a temperature of 38 degrees or above please do not bring them to school. If your child develop temperature or sickness during school time we will call the parents and advise to pick them up. They can rest in the air conditioned reception area.
When are the school holidays?
Please visit our Calendar page. We send notice of up coming holidays via Whats App. Generally there are 2 major breaks, 1 at Christmas and 1 during Songkran the Thai Summer holidays. Our kindergartens holidays are short. There is no restriction on taking your child away on holiday during school time.
Can my child come to school on weekends?
No. Our kindergarten is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Do the children have tests or exams?
At lighthouse we do not rigorously test the children. There are not official examinations at our kindergarten. We believe in project work and fun educational activities and feedback report each term so as to monitor a child’s development.
