Calendar

Chalong lighthouse runs longer than most international and Thai schools, we only have 2 main holidays breaks. 1 week at Christmas and 1 week during Songkran in April. We then have periodical days off in tune with Thai national holidays. Of course your welcome to take children on family holidays during school time.

Late fees

200 Baht is charged if pickup is later than 16.15
500 Baht is charged if pickup is later than 17.00

Late stay service

We offer a late stay service up to 6pm. Please enquire at reception for the fee.

What to bring to school

Its useful for children bring a school bag with a name tag
Milk
Water Bottle
Extra Clothes
Diapers (if child is still wearing)

What NOT to bring

We discourage children from bringing toys and sweets to school unless asked to do so by the teacher.

School Uniform

No strict uniform

Ligthhouse does not have a strict uniform, we do supply lighthouse t-shirts which most children wear a few times a week. Be aware the children do creative work where they may get a bit messy at times.

Footwear

Cool footwear for outdoor use. The children do have sports lesssons, so a pair of trainers are advisable.

Socks

Children do not need socks they are optional.

Swimwear

Ocassionally the children have waterplay session. We will let you know via kindergarten Whats App channel when this is scheduled. We do not have a fixed swimming pool but setup inflatable pools and slides.

We have in house chefs that prepare and cook fresh food everyday. We promote healthy eating. There is a cafeteria area complete with 6 basins for children to wash hands.

Sickness guidelines

If your child has a temperature of 38 degrees or above, please don’t bring them to school. If they develop a fever during the day we will get in touch with the parent and ask you to pick them up.

Deep cleaning every week

Dedicated cleaning staff that make a full deep clean every week along with daily cleaning of each part of the kindergarten school.

Fees & Enrolement

Do i need to pay school fees per term?

No. There is an option to pay monthly. You can also qualify for discounts for paying every term or annual 1 year payment.

How do i enrole at Lighthouse Kindergarten?

What age do you accept children?

We accept children from 1 years old. Children also start at 2 or 3 years. Please enquire if places are available for ages 4-7 years.

How many children to each class?

Lighthouse has some of the smallest class numbers in phuket for accelerated learning. Please visit us for the latest information.

At School

Will my child be on facebook or the website?

This is the parents choice. If your happy for your child to be on the website or facebook we ask that you fill in a consent form.

What if my child is sick?

If your child has a temperature of 38 degrees or above please do not bring them to school. If your child develops temperature or sickness during school time we will call the parents and advise to pick them up promptly. They can rest in the air conditioned reception area until picked up.

When are the school holidays?

Please visit our Calendar page. We send notice of up coming holidays via Whats App. Generally there are 2 major breaks, 1 at Christmas and 1 during Songkran the Thai Summer holidays. Our kindergartens holidays are short. There is no restriction on taking your child away on holiday during school time.

Can my child come to school on weekends?

No. Our kindergarten is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Do the children have tests or exams?

At lighthouse we do not rigorously test the childen. There are not offical examinations at our kindergarten. We believe in project work and fun educational activities and feedback report each term so as to monitor a child’s development.
